House Ramakrishna, once well known in the Empire, has long since existed solely on one continent of the Vuldrok world of Hargard. Sophisticated and cultured, they descend primarily from Urthish (subcontinental) Indian stock. Practice a polythestic religion called Tertha, a form of neo-hinduism that acknowledges diverse schools of thought ("the Ten Schools,") as well as Hombor and Amalthea as saints, and Zebulon as one of the "sixteen Great Avatars." Once strongly caste-oriented, historically faced with the constant threat of being overhwelmed by Vuldrok, the caste system has softened and there has been some admixture of culture and bloodlines.
